The Farmall 806 row-crop tractor is equipped with one of two engines: a 5.9 L (361.0 cu·in) six-cylinder diesel engine or a 4.9 L (301.0 cu·in) six-cylinder (gasoline or LP-gas version) engine and one of two transmissions: an unsynchronized gear transmission with dry disc clutch and 8 forward and 4 reverse gears or a two-speed power shift transmission with dry disc clutch and 16 forward and 8 reverse gears.

This tractor could be equipped with the following engines:

  • International Harvester D-361. It is a 5.9 L, 5,916 cm2, (361.0 cu·in) six-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine with 105.0 mm (4.13 in) of the cylinder bore and 114.0 mm (4.49 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 17.0:1.
  • Interntional Harvester C301. It is a 4.9 L, 4,933 cm2, (301.0 cu·in) six-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline / LP-gas engine. The cylinder bore is 97.0 mm (3.82 in) and the piston stroke is 112.0 mm (4.41 in). The gasoline version of this engine produced 111.5 PS (82.0 kW; 110 HP) at 2,400 rpm of output power.

The Farmall 806 is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, hydraulic dry disc brakes, Open operator station and 159.0 liters (42 US gal.; 35 Imp. gal) fuel tank for gasoline and diesel fuel or 177.9 liters (47 US gal, 39.1 Imp. gal) for LP-gas.
