The J.I. Case 885 is a 2WD utility tractor manufactured by David Brown in Meltham Mills, Huddersfield, England from 1976 to 1980.
The J.I. Case 885 is equipped with one of two engines: a 2.7 L (164.4 cu·in) three-cylinder diesel engine or a 2.4 L (146.1 cu·in) three-cylinder gasoline engine and a partially synchronized transmission with 12 forward and 4 reverse gears.
The Case 885 used manual or hydrostatic power (optional) steering, differential mechanical drum brakes, an open operator station and 48.0 liters (12.7 US gal.; 10.6 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
The tractor could be equipped with the following engines:
- David Brown. It is a 2.7 L, 2,694 cm2, (164.4 cu·in) three-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine with 100.0 mm (3.94 in) of the cylinder bore and 114.0 mm (4.49 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 17.0:1. This engine produced 48 PS (35.3 kW; 47.3 HP) at 2,200 rpm of output power.
- David Brown. It is a 2.4 L, 2,394 cm2, (146.1 cu·in) three-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline engine. The cylinder bore is 100.0 mm (3.94 in) and the piston stroke is 102.0 mm (4.02 in). The compression ratio rating is 6.75:1.
