  • John Deere diesel engine (1997-1999). It is a 8.1 L, 8,128 cm2, (496.0 cu·in) six-cylinder turbocharged aftercooled diesel engine. The cylinder bore is 116.0 mm (4.57 in) and the piston stroke is 129.0 mm (5.08 in). The compression ratio rating is 15.5:1. This engine produced 202.8 PS (149.1 kW; 200.0 HP) at 2,200 rpm of output power.

The JD 8300 is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, differential hydraulic wet disc brakes, CommandView Cab (standard), and 511.0 liters (135 US gal.; 112.4 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
