New Holland North America has introduced the PowerStar Electro Command, a new flagship in the PowerStar utility tractor lineup that raises the series’ standards for comfort, control and capability. According to Alex Berwager, Livestock and Dairy Business Manager, the Electro Command combines premium features and an Electro Command semi‑powershift transmission to deliver the most capable PowerStar tractors to date — especially well suited for cattle and livestock operations and hay work.
Overview and debut
The PowerStar Electro Command made its global debut at the 2025 Farm Progress Show and sits at the top of the PowerStar series. It pairs a compact, easy‑to‑maneuver utility footprint with performance and features more commonly found on production‑class agricultural tractors.
Power and hydraulics
Offered in 110 and 120 hp ratings (PTO: 85 and 99 hp), the Electro Command 110 and 120 is aimed at crop, dairy and general livestock duties, excelling in hay and light fieldwork. A rear lift capacity of over 10,000 lb (≈5.2 t) gives it nearly double the lift capability of many other utility tractors, enabling heavier loads and larger bales to be handled without moving up to a larger machine. With optional R38 tires the tractor achieves the clearance and traction of larger tractors while preserving maneuverability.
Hydraulics include a 21 gpm (80 L/min) load‑sensing pump for precise, efficient power delivery. Up to three rear remotes and electronic or mid‑mount valve options allow operators to run a wide range of implements. CNH loader compatibility is standard, and customers can choose a loader to match their operation.
Transmission — built for heavy‑duty utility work
The PowerStar Electro Command’s 16×16 semi‑powershift transmission is a major upgrade requested by PowerStar customers. Unlike the previous 12×12 or the Dual Command high/low split, this transmission offers clutchless shifts between primary ranges (A/B and C/D) and supports up to eight automatic gear shifts for smooth, hands‑free operation. Proven across other New Holland lines, this transmission is designed for applications with frequent load changes — such as hilly terrain — helping reduce operator fatigue and stabilize output. An ECO speed mode improves fuel efficiency and lowers engine noise.
Comfort, visibility and controls
The Electro Command is offered as a cab model with several comfort and visibility enhancements for long workdays. A newly available cab suspension system combined with an air‑suspended seat (with fore/aft movement) reduces shock and increases operator comfort by up to 25% compared with a non‑suspended cab. An optional suspended front axle further improves ride quality, traction and implement control.
Visibility is enhanced by a high‑visibility roof panel and a panoramic front windscreen, useful when operating a loader. A new electronic mid‑mount joystick combines gear shifting, declutching and loader operation into a single control point; this is the first PowerStar to offer full joystick gear control, a feature previously reserved for higher‑horsepower New Holland tractors.
Telematics and data access
FieldOps telematics comes standard on Model Year 2026 Electro Command tractors, providing real‑time location tracking, engine performance monitoring and fuel and DEF level visibility. An optional advanced telematics package gives owners and dealers deeper analytics, remote access to fault codes and operating data, and tools for proactive maintenance and uptime planning.
Availability
The PowerStar Electro Command will be shown publicly at the 2025 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois, in New Holland’s booth (#967). Lena Patton, product marketing manager, says the new model narrows the gap between utility and agricultural performance by delivering the versatility of a utility machine with production‑class power, comfort and technology — built to make long hours in the cab more productive and comfortable for both livestock and crop producers.
