The John Deere 345 garden tractor was manufactured in Horicon, Wisconsin, USA from 1995 to 2001. The Kawasaki FD590V V-twin 90° liquid-cooled 4-stroke (585 cc, 35.7 cu-in) vertical engine was used through the 1998 model year, serial number 070000. The Kawasaki FD611V was used starting in the 1999 model year, serial number 070001.

The Kawasaki FD590V is a V-twin 90° liquid-cooled four-stroke gasoline engine with vertical PTO shaft. The FD590V has OHV (overhead valve design); cast iron cylinder liners; horizontal draft type carburetor with fixed main jet; mechanical diaphragm type fuel pump; full transistor ignition system with fixed timing; mechanical governor. The Kawasaki FD590V develops 18.0 HP (13.4 kW) at 3,600 rpm and 41.5 Nm (4.23 kg·m; 30.63 ft·lb) at 2,600 rpm of torque.

A 74.0 mm (2.91 in) cylinder bore and 68.0 mm (2.68 in) piston stroke give the motor a total of 585 cc of displacement. Compression ratio rating is 8.7:1.

The Kawasaki FD611V is a 0.59 l (585 cc, 35.7 cu-in) V-twin 90° liquid-cooled 4-stroke internal combustion small gasoline motor with a vertical shaft. The FD611V has OHV (overhead valve design); cast iron cylinder liners; horizontal draft type carburetor with fixed main jet; diaphragm type mechanical fuel pump; full transistor ignition system with fixed timing.

Bore and stroke are 74 mm (2.91 in) and 68 mm (2.68 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 9.0:1. The Kawasaki FD611V develops 20.0 HP (14.9 kW) at 3,600 rpm and 42.8 Nm (4.4 kg·m; 31.6 ft·lb) at 2,200 rpm of torque.

The John Deere 345 lawn tractor is equipped with Tuff Torq K70 belt-driven hydrostatic transmission (infinite forward and reverse gears), manual steering and wet disc brakes. This tractor used open operator station. The JD 345 also features an electric starter, independent front PTO-shaft with electric clutch and a 3.5-gallon (13.2 L) fuel tank.

  1. I need a fuel pump for my JD345 with Kawasaki engine. On the internet they show the required pump need (with same part number) for my engine, but the prices range significantly. Why is that and which one do I need to purchase? I am thinking the Am132715 for $17.55 from eBay.
