The John Deere 5100M is a 2WD or 4WD utility tractor from the 5M series. This tractor has been manufactured by John Deere in Augusta, Georgia, USA since 2012. This second generation has been manufactured since 2015. The John Deere 5100M is equipped with a 4.5 L (276.0 cu·in) four-cylinder diesel engine and one of two transmissions: a power shuttle transmission with 16 forward and 16 reverse gears or a two-speed power shift transmission with 32 forward and 16 reverse gears.
The John Deere 5100M utility tractor used the John Deere 4045PWL engine. It is a 4.5 L, 4,523 cm2, (276.0 cu·in) four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with 106.0 mm (4.17 in) of the cylinder bore and 127.0 mm (5 in) of the piston stroke. This engine produced 101.5 PS (74.6 kW; 100 HP) at 2,200 rpm of output power.
The JD 5100M is equipped with power steering, hydraulic wet disc brakes, and 113.6 liters (30.0 US gal.; 25.0 Imp. gal) fuel tank for the ROPS version or 140.0 liters (37.0 US gal, 30.8 Imp. gal) for the Cab version.
