The David Brown Cropmaster is equipped with a 2.5 L (154.0 cu·in) four-cylinder kerosene engine and one of two transmissions: a gear type transmission with 4 forward and 1 reverse gears and dry disc clutch or a gear type transmission with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears and dry disc clutch.

The David Brown Cropmaster is equipped with manual steering, mechanical drum brakes, and an open operator station.
