The International Harvester 1456 is a 2WD or 4WD standard-tread tractor manufactured by International Harvester from 1969 to 1971. The International 1456 is equipped with a 6.7 L (407.0 cu·in) six-cylinder diesel engine and one of two transmissions: a gear type transmission with 8 forward and 4 reverse gears or a partial power shift transmission with 16 forward and 8 reverse gears.
The IH 1456 standard-tread tractor used the International Harvester DT407 engine. It is a 6.7 L, 6,669 cm2, (407.0 cu·in) six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with 110.0 mm (4.33 in) of the cylinder bore and 117.0 mm (4.61 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 17.0:1. This engine produced 131.8 PS (96.9 kW; 130.0 HP) at 2,400 rpm of output power.
The International 1456 is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, independent hydraulic dry disc brakes, open operator station or cab with heat and A/C (optional), and 159.0 liters (42 US gal.; 35 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
