Farmall 656The Farmall 656 is a 2WD row-crop tractor manufactured by Farmall (a part of International Harvester) from 1965 to 1973.

The Farmall 656 is equipped with one of two engines: a 4.3 L (263.0 cu·in) six-cylinder gasoline/LP-gas engine or a 4.6 L (282.0 cu·in) six-cylinder diesel engine and one of three transmissions: a gear type transmission with 5 forward and 1 reverse gear, a two-speed power shift transmission with 10 forward and 2 reverse gears or a hydrostatic transmission with infinite (2-range) forward and reverse gears.

The tractor could be equipped with the following engines:

  • International Harvester C-263. It is a 4.3 L, 4,310 cm2, (263.0 cu·in) six-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline/LP-gas engine with 90.0 mm (3.54 in) of the cylinder bore and 112.0 mm (4.41 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 7.6:1 for gasoline version or 8.8:1 for LP-gas version. This engine produced 63.9 PS (47.0 kW; 63.0 HP) of PTO output power.
  • International Harvester D282. It is a 4.6 L, 4,621 cm2, (282.0 cu·in) six-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine. The cylinder bore is 94.0 mm (3.7 in) and the piston stroke is 112.0 mm (4.41 in). The compression ratio rating is 17.6:1. This engine produced 63.9 PS (47.0 kW; 63.0 HP) of PTO output power.

The Farmall 656 is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, independent mechanical disc brakes, an open operator station, and 125.0 liters (33 US gal.; 27.5 Imp. gal) fuel tank for gasoline or diesel fuel and 147.6 liters (39 US gal, 32.5 Imp. gal) for LP-gas.
