The International Harvester 424 is a 2WD utility tractor from manufactured by International Harvester in Doncaster, England or Louisville, Kentucky, USA from 1964 to 1967.
The International Harvester 424 is equipped with one of two engines: a 2.4 L (145.3 cu·in) four-cylinder gasoline engine or a 2.5 L (154.0 cu·in) four-cylinder diesel engine and a sliding gear with dry disc clutch transmission with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears.
The tractor could be equipped with the following engines:
- International Harvester C-146. It is a 2.4 L, 2,381 cm2, (145.3 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline engine with 86.0 mm (3.39 in) of the cylinder bore and 103.0 mm (4.06 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 7.6:1. This engine produced 37.5 PS (27.6 kW; 37.0 HP) at 2,000 rpm of output power.
- International Harvester BD-154. It is a 2.5 L, 2,524 cm2, (154.0 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine. The cylinder bore is 89.0 mm (3.5 in) and the piston stroke is 102.0 mm (4.02 in). The compression ratio rating is 23.1:1.
The IH 424 is equipped with power assist steering, differential mechanical dry disc brakes, an open operator station and 53.0 liters (14 US gal.; 11.7 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
