International Harvester 1066The International Harvester 1066 is a 2WD or 4WD row-crop tractor from the 66 series. This tractor was manufactured by the International Harvester in Rock Island, Illinois, USA from 1971 to 1976. The International Harvester 1066 is equipped with 6.8 L diesel engine and one of three transmissions: gear type transmission with dry disc clutch (8 forward and 4 reverse gears), partial power shift transmission with dry disc clutch (16 forward and 8 reverse gears) and hydrostatic transmission with infinite (two-range) forward and reverse.

The IHC 1066 row-crop tractor used the International Harvester DT414 engine. It is a 6.8 L, 6,784 cm2, (414 cu·in) six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with 109.0 mm (4.29 in) of cylinder bore and 121.0 mm (4.76 in) of piston stroke. This engine produced 109.5 PS (80.5 kW; 108 HP) of maximum output power. The DT414 engine has replaceable cast-iron wet type cylinder sleeves; forged steel, fully counterbalanced crankshaft with seven main bearings; forged steel “I” beam connecting rods; aluminum alloy pistons with a combustion chamber molded-in dome. The engine used an American Bosch rotary distributor injection pump; multi-holes injection nozzles; full pressure lubrication system; a liquid cooling system with pump circulation; dry type, two-stage air cleaner.

The IH 1066 tractor is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, double dry disc, hydrostatic power self-adjusting brakes, open operator station, and 159.0 liters (42 US gal.; 35 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
