The International Harvester 1256 is a 2WD or 4WD utility tractor manufactured by International Harvester in Rock Island, Illinois, USA from 1967 to 1969. The International 1256 is equipped with a 6.7 L (407.0 cu·in) six-cylinder diesel engine and one of two transmissions: a gear type transmission with 8 forward and 4 reverse gears or a partial power shift transmission with 16 forward and 8 reverse gears.
The IH 1256 utility tractor used the International Harvester DT407 engine.
