International Harvester 284The International Harvester 284 is a 2WD or 4WD compact utility tractor manufactured by Komatsu in Japan for distributor International Harvester from 1976 to 1984.

The International Harvester 284 is equipped with one of two engines: a 1.2 L (71.3 cu·in) four-cylinder gasoline engine or a 1.6 L (99.0 cu·in) four-cylinder diesel engine and sliding gear transmission with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears and with dry disc clutch.

The tractor could be equipped with the following engines:

  • Mazda M4-71G. It is a 1.2 L, 1,168 cm2, (71.3 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline engine with 70.0 mm (2.76 in) of the cylinder bore and 76.0 mm (2.99 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 8.6:1. This engine produced 28.4 PS (20.9 kW; 28.0 HP) at 2,600 rpm of output power.
  • Nissan. It is a 1.6 L, 1,622 cm2, (99.0 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine. The cylinder bore is 83.0 mm (3.27 in) and the piston stroke is 100.0 mm (3.94 in). This engine produced 30.5 PS (22.4 kW; 30.0 HP) at 2,600 rpm of output power.

The IH 284 is equipped with manual steering, hydraulic wet disc brakes, open operator station, or two-post ROPS with canopy (optional), and 33.0 liters (8.7 US gal.; 7.3 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
