It is a 5.7 L, 5,735 cm2, (350.0 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline/LP-gas engine with 114.0 mm (4.49 in) of the cylinder bore and 140.0 mm (5.51 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 6.12:1 for gasoline version or 8.25:1 for LP-gas version. This engine produced 57.8 PS (42.5 kW; 57 HP) at 1,500 rpm of PTO output power. This tractor could be equipped with a four-cylinder diesel engine.

The International Harvester 650 is equipped with power assist steering, disc brakes and open operator station.
