The Massey Ferguson 270 is a two-wheel tractor, manufactured by Massey Ferguson from 1983 to 1986. The Massey Ferguson 270 tractor is equipped with Perkins A4.236 diesel engine and two transmission options: manual type transmission with 8 forward and 2 reverse or Multi-Power transmission with 12 forward and 4 reverse (three speeds in two ranges plus two-speed power shift).
The MF 270 tractor used a four-cylinder naturally-aspirated liquid-cooled diesel engine Perkins A4.236, with 98.4 mm (3.87 in) of the cylinder bore and 127 mm (5 in) of the piston stroke. Compression ratio rating is 16.0:1. The A4.236 engine produced 56.0 PS (41.0 kW; 55.0 HP) of output power on PTO-shaft. The engine used oil bath or dual dry element air cleaner with over-bonnet pre-cleaner and single, high capacity fuel filter.
The Massey Ferguson 270 used hydrostatic power-assisted steering and differential hydraulic wet disc brakes. The Massey Ferguson 270 used open operator station, a two-post rollover protection structure (ROPS) or cabin was available as an option.
