The Massey Ferguson 1240 is a 2WD (1240-2) or 4WD compact utility tractor from the 1200 Compact series. This tractor was manufactured by Iseki for distributor Massey Ferguson from 1992 to 2002. The Massey Ferguson 1240 is equipped with a 1.5 L (89.3 cu·in) three-cylinder diesel engine and a synchro shuttle transmission with 16 forward and reverse gears and dry disc clutch.
The MF 1240 compact utility tractor used the Iseki engine. It is a 1.5 L, 1,463 cm2, (89.3 cu·in) three-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine. The compression ratio rating is 21.5:1. This engine produced 30.5 PS (22.4 kW; 30.0 HP) at 2,500 rpm of output power and 93.6 N·m (9.5 kg·m, 69 ft·lb) at 1,500 rpm of torque.
