The John Deere 55 is a riding lawn mower with small single cylinder Tecumseh V50 engine (199 cc, 12.17 cu-in) and belt-driven gear transmission with two forward and one reverse gear. The John Deere 55 lawn mower was produced from 1970 to 1972.
The John Deere 55 used an air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke gasoline engine with vertical PTO shaft and recoil starter. The engine has a 66.7 mm (2.62 in) of the cylinder bore and 57.0 mm (2.25 in) of the piston stroke. The Tecumseh V50 engine produces 5.0 PS (3.7 KW; 5.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm. The oil type is 10W-30, and the oil capacity is 0.81 L. The spark plug is the Champion RJ8C.
