The John Deere 130 is a lawn and garden mower with small single cylinder Kawasaki FC290V vertical engine (286 cc, 17.45 cu-in) and Peerless 801-038A gear transmission (five forward and one reverse). The John Deere 130 lawn mower was produced from 1986 to 1988.
The John Deere 130 tractor used an air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke Kawasaki FC290V gasoline engine with vertical PTO shaft and electric starter. The FC290V engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design; cast-iron cylinder liner; reciprocating balancer; float type carburetor with fixed main jet; flywheel magneto transistor type ignition system. Bore and stroke are 78.0 mm (3.07 in) and 60.0 mm (2.36 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 8.4:1. The Kawasaki FC290V motor produced 9.1 PS (6.7 kW; 9.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of horsepower and 18.7 Nm (1.91 kg·m; 13.8 ft·lb) at 2,400 rpm of torque.
