John Deere 160

The John Deere 160 is a lawn and garden tractor with small single cylinder Kawasaki FB460V vertical engine 0.46 l (460 cc, 28.1 cu-in) and Peerless 801-038A gear type transmission with five forward and one reverse gear. The John Deere 160 garden tractor was produced from 1986 to 1988.

The John Deere 160 tractor used an air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke Kawasaki FB460V gasoline engine with vertical PTO shaft. The FB460V engine has an L-head design with two valves; transistorized flywheel magneto ignition system; float type carburetor with fixed main jet and mechanical governor. Cylinder bore and piston stroke are 89.0 mm (3.5 in) and 74.0 mm (2.91 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 6.4:1. The Kawasaki FB460V motor produced 12.5 HP (9.3 kW) at 3,600 rpm and 28.0 Nm (2.8 kg·m, 20.1 ft·lb) at 2,300 rpm of torque.

The John Deere 160 is equipped with gear type transmission (4×2 2WD), mechanical clutch, disc brakes, and manual steering. This tractor used open operator station.
