John Deere 56The John Deere 56 is a riding lawn mower with small single cylinder Tecumseh V60 engine (221 cc, 13.5 cu-in) and belt-driven gear transmission with two or three forward and one reverse gear.

The riding mower used open operator station and mid-mount 28 inches (710 mm) mower deck with a single blade. The John Deere 56 lawn mower was produced from 1970 to 1974.

The John Deere 56 used an air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke gasoline engine with vertical PTO shaft and electric or recoil starter. The engine has a 66.7 mm (2.62 in) of the cylinder bore and 63.5 mm (2.5 in) of the piston stroke.

The Tecumseh V60 engine produces 6.0 HP (4.5 kW). The John Deere 56 is equipped with gear transmission (4×2 2WD), independent PTO with mechanical clutch.
