The John Deere 56 is a riding lawn mower with small single cylinder Tecumseh V60 engine (221 cc, 13.5 cu-in) and belt-driven gear transmission with two or three forward and one reverse gear.
The riding mower used open operator station and mid-mount 28 inches (710 mm) mower deck with a single blade. The John Deere 56 lawn mower was produced from 1970 to 1974.
The John Deere 56 used an air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke gasoline engine with vertical PTO shaft and electric or recoil starter. The engine has a 66.7 mm (2.62 in) of the cylinder bore and 63.5 mm (2.5 in) of the piston stroke.
