This first generation was manufactured form 2008 to 2011. The JD 5075M is equipped with a 3.1 L (186.1 cu·in) five-cylinder diesel engine and one of four transmission variants.

The John Deere 5075M utility tractor used the John Deere PowerTech 5030 engine. It is a 3.0 L, 3,050 cm2, (186.0 cu·in) five-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with 86.0 mm (3.39 in) of the cylinder bore and 105.0 mm (4.13 in) of the piston stroke. This engine produced 76 PS (55.9 kW; 75.0 HP) at 2,200 rpm of output power.
The John Deere 5075M is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, hydraulic wet disc brakes, foldable ROPS, deluxe ROPS or Cab (optional) and 84.4 liters (22.3 US gal.; 18.6 Imp. gal) fuel tank for the ROPS version or 117.3 liters (31 US gal, 25.8 Imp. gal) for the cab version.
