The John Deere LX186 is a lawn and garden tractor from the John Deere LX100-series. The John Deere LX186 garden tractor was produced at the John Deere Horicon Works plant (Horicon, Wisconsin, USA) from 1991 to 1992.
The John Deere LX186 lawn tractor used an air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke Kawasaki FC540V gasoline engine with vertical PTO shaft. The FC540V engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design, cast-iron cylinder liner, reciprocating balancer, float type carburetor with fixed main jet, flywheel magneto transistor type ignition system, mechanical governor.
An 89.0 mm (3.5 in) cylinder bore and 86.0 mm (3.39 in) piston stroke give the motor a total of 535 cc (32.65 cu-in) of displacement. Compression ratio rating is 8.3:1. The Kawasaki FC540V motor produced 17.0 HP (12.7 kW) at 3,600 rpm of horsepower and 36.7 Nm (3.74 kg·m; 27.08 ft·lb) at 2,400 rpm of torque.
The John Deere LX186 is equipped with Tuff Torq K61 belt-driven hydrostatic transmission (infinite forward and reverse), external band brakes, and manual sector-and-pinion steering. This tractor used open operator station, independent PTO-shaft with electric clutch and 9.5 L (2.5 US gal) fuel tank and mid-mount John Deere 1,201 mm (48 in) mower deck with 3-blade and manual lift.
