Massey Ferguson 255The Massey Ferguson 255 is a two-wheel tractor, manufactured by Massey Ferguson from 1975 to 1981. The Massey Ferguson 255 tractor was available in three variants: standard, row-crop and low-profile.

The Massey Ferguson 255 tractor could be equipped with three engine options (two diesel and one gasoline) and two transmission options: gear type transmission with 8 forward and 2 reverse or Multi-Power transmission with 12 forward and 4 reverse (three speeds in two ranges plus two-speed power shift).

The following engines were available on the MF 255 tractor:

  • Perkins AG4.212 gasoline engine. It is four-cylinder naturally-aspirated liquid-cooled gasoline engine. An 98.4 mm (3.87 in) cylinder bore and 114.3 mm (4.5 in) piston stroke give the motor a total of 3.48 l (212 cu.in.) of displacement. Compression ratio rating is 7.0:1. This motor produced 50.7 PS (37.3 KW; 50.0 HP) of output power on PTO-shaft.
  • Perkins AD4.203 diesel engine. The Perkins AD4.203 is a 3.33 l (203 cu.in.) four-cylinder naturally-aspirated liquid-cooled diesel engine. Bore and stroke are 91.5 mm (3.6 in) and 127 mm (5 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 18.5:1. This motor produced 50.7 PS (37.3 KW; 50.0 HP) of output power on PTO-shaft.
  • Perkins A4.236 diesel engine. The A4.236 is a 3.87 l (236 cu.in.) four-cylinder naturally-aspirated liquid-cooled diesel engine. Bore and stroke are 98.4 mm (3.87 in) and 127 mm (5 in), respectively. Compression ratio rating is 16.0:1. This motor produced 52.8 PS (38.8 KW; 52 HP) of output power on PTO-shaft.

The Massey Ferguson 255 used hydrostatic power steering, differential dry disc brakes, two-stage clutch, and differential lock operated by foot pedal. The Massey Ferguson 255 used open operator station with a two-post rollover protection structure (ROPS).
