The Mahindra 1538 is a 4WD compact utility tractor from the 1500 series. This tractor was manufactured by the Mitsubishi for Mahindra in from 2016 to 2018. The Mahindra 1538 is equipped with 2.7 L four-cylinder diesel engine and one of two transmissions: constant-mesh transmission with dry single disc clutch (8 forward and 8 reverse gears) or hydrostatic transmission (infinite 3-range forward and reverse).
The Mahindra 1538 compact utility tractor used the Mahindra engine. It is a 2.7 L, 2,732 cm2, (166.7 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine with 89.0 mm (3.5 in) of the cylinder bore and 110.0 mm (4.33 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 19.5:1. This engine produced 39.2 PS (28.8 kW; 38.6 HP) at 2,400 rpm of maximum horsepower. The PTO output power is 30.3 PS (22.3 KW; 29.9 HP) for the shuttle transmission and 37.7 PS (27.7 KW; 37.1 HP) for hydrostatic transmission.
The Mahindra 1538 is equipped with hydraulic power steering, wet disc brakes, open operator station with two-post ROPS and 29.0 liters (7.7 US gal.; 6.4 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
