The compression ratio rating is 16.0:1. This engine produced 272.8 PS (200.6 kW; 269.0 HP) at 2,100 rpm of output power.

The John Deere 7230R is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, hydraulic wet disc brakes, Cab (standard), and 571.9 liters (151.1 US gal.; 125.8 Imp. gal) fuel tank for the version with the CommandQuad transmission, 544 liters (143.7 US gal.; 119.6 Imp. gal) with e23, or 589 liters (155.6 US gal.; 129.5 Imp. gal) with IVT transmission.
