The Massey Ferguson 220 is a two-wheel or four-wheel (220-4) compact utility tractor, manufactured by Japanese company Hinomoto on the factory in Osaka, Japan between 1978 and 1984. This compact tractor is the same as the Allis-Chalmers 5030, Hinomoto E28 and Simplicity 9528. The MF 220 is equipped with two-cylinders liquid-cooled Toyosha S148 diesel engine with 1.5 L, 1,477 cc (90.1 cu-in) of displacement and unsynchronized gear transmission with 12 forward and 3 reverse gears. This transmission has four gears in three ranges (low, medium, and high).
The Ferguson 220 / 220-4 utility tractor used a two-cylinder naturally-aspirated liquid-cooled the Toyosha S148 diesel engine with 97.0 mm (3.82 in) of the cylinder bore and 100.0 mm (3.94 in) of the piston stroke. Compression ratio rating is 23:1. It produced 28.0 HP (20.9 kW) of maximum powers or 26.0 HP (19.4 kW) of horsepower on PTO-shaft.
The MF 220 / MF 220-4 is equipped with gear transmission with 12 forward and 3 reverse gears. This tractor used manual steering, molded asbestos single plate dry clutch, mechanical drum brakes, and open operator station. The compact utility tractor can be used with a front-end loader or mower attachments.
